Another GREAT  5th year in Alpine California at the Viejas Casino & Outlet Center.   Always SO WELL organized and put together by Viejas Staff Nancy Kennedy, Debra Hood, Peter, and all the other unnamed Viejas heroes that make this one of best organized and team friendly BBQ contest I have ever attended.  Not to mention Grant & Jeni Ford as well as Kelly & Kathleen as our always-fantastic KCBS representatives!

Viejas does know what it takes to put on a fantastic event !!!  Great venue, great facilitation, great hospitality, and above all, a fantastic contest overall.  Every year getting better than the last!
 
I pulled into my spot Friday morning at 09:30. and met all the other teams already there. Viejas folks were putting the finishing touches on the venue (placing the porta potties, generators,  & helping/pointing  everybody find their LABELED, in some cases,  spots).  Could not have been nicer.
    
The cooks meeting was at 19:00  and instructions were provided to everybody.
 
Congratulation to all the teams that participated and did their best!
 
Most teams were pulling out  after the event after awards.  Some stayed at the Viejas RV parking lot and some stayed on the upper Outlet parking lot that Nancy provided at the last minute . 
 
Thanks to everybody that made the event so special.   I will definitely be back next year!
