 Otis and the Bird

Again, One of the BEST, if NOT THE BEST,  BBQ Cook-Offs we currently have in California. We are treated so by Nancy, Debbie, Peter, and alll the staff at Viejas Outlet Center

I could just sit her and say the same things over and over again as in all my previous write-ups.  So, will just jot down a few bullet items:

• Congratulations to Lawrence Hill - BLQUE Cutin Edge & Jay & Monica - Otis and the Bird.  AND, to all participants.

• The venue is the best.  We are given great spots in a great area next to the out let center.  Provided with water, Ice, and dump facilitations for grey water and Ice.  On a strictly positive note, and as a wish list item,  I bet all the teams and staff would love to have a Porta-Potti or two in the immediate vicinity of our team placements for next year maybe.

• Nancy, Peter, Debbie, and the facilities staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful.  Anything needed was provided instantly.  Anything requested was given immediate attention.  Loved the rides to and from the judging turn-in area as well.

• I got to meet new teams, people, cook with folks I have not cooked with in a long time, and socialize with BBQ friends from the late 90's to current.  Can't ask for more than that.

• Everybody should consider hanging around for the Saturday (after the awards) cerimonies that occur after most events if they let us stay.  QN4U, Rhythm 'n Que, BBQbyDan, Otis and the Bird, and All Hogs go to Heaven hung around and had pizza (provided by the Reserve Champions), a bit of an adult beverage, and good time till about midnight in the parking lot.

• About 07:00 Sunday morning most were packing up and pulling out.
