This is going to be a great event, held
in conjunction with the "Show & Shine" car show. There will be plenty of
room for your team and RV along side of your cooking space if needed.
This event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. The four
KCBS meats will be judged beginning at 12:00 on Saturday. see below)
Anything Butt will be judged at 11:30 am and a dessert category at 2:00
pm. Cash and trophies will be awarded at the event. If you have items to
sell, like BBQ Sauce, T-Shirts, hats, etc, must have approval from the
event promoter. This year, in addition to the KCBS Sanctioned competition, Sunday will feature an open competition consisting of tri-tip and chicken (meat will be provided), winner take all! There is a $25.00 entry fee to participate in the fun. However, Go For The Gold BBQ will supply competing teams with the tri-tip and chicken. Sunday's Open will give you an opportunity to be creative. Use your own plate and any garnish! If you would like to compete on Sunday, please mark the appropriate box on the event entry form. Grand Champion - Trophy and Cash Prize Reserve Grand Champion - Trophy and Cash Prize First down to Fifth place in each category Cash prize amounts will be announced closer to the event. We expect this to be the largest payout of all California competitions. Amounts will be published at least 60 days prior to the event.
